Al lado del camino

Y yo me paro.

Time eludes me

I must take three deep breaths.

Everything for me comes in three’s

and the trees.

Un arbol de familia

I think of my siblings and our trio.

Nadie nos prometio un jardin de rosas

we made a garden of memories

to take with us when we part.

And I walk

more than talk - although

I talk to myself a lot.

I think and resolve thoughts

Speaking while walking

I declare truths

I make up scenarios.

I cannot help

but to make eye contact with most strangers

como una brisa

como un angel.

ellos me ven

the rhythms we both know.

Love has brought me to new places

sorrow has become tecnicolored

I see gold

I see blue.

Al lado del camino it’s where I walk

unknown, uncertain

I am being moved by a stronger force

a symphony of the unexpected

endless cliffs

the sunset of tomorrow

dusk of today.
